Student Financial Services
Student Financial Services provides a comprehensive advisory service, funding opportunities, help to manage your finances, and offers financial hardship support and a free 'KEYS to Managing on a Student Income' workshop. They can also give you budgeting and financial advice, advice on banking and help you liaise with Government agencies and other external bodies.
If you're really stuck, the office can assist you short-term. If you face unexpected financial hardship during the year you can apply for assistance through food and travel vouchers, financial assistance and short-term loans.
Services include:
- Practical budget advice to help you manage your money
- Preparation of a budget if needed
- General financial information and assistance
- Liaising with Studylink to resolve Student Loan and Allowance problems
- Liaising with external agencies eg: WINZ, IRD, creditors, landlords
- Information on special awards and assistance with applications
- Hardship grants (food, petrol and bus vouchers)
- Short-term loans
- Private, confidential one-to-one assistance.
