Māori Liaison Services - Te Tari Takawaenga Māori
Māori Liaison Services can help you with a range of things, from enrolment advice, Māori scholarships, Student Loans and Allowances, to finding your way around campus and just being there for you to talk to. Remember, the team are your friendly AUT whānau available to support your academic and personal needs.
Māori Liaison Services provide support for current and prospective students at AUT. Māori students can feel whakamaa when they first get to AUT. If you want help with course planning, enrolment, applying for scholarships, filling in applications, or orientation, the friendly whānau will be here to support you as your first point of contact at AUT.
If you are coming straight from school you may have already met the team, as another important function of their role is to visit prospective students and career counsellors and inform them of the opportunities available at AUT.
The friendly staff at Te Tari Takawaenga Māori are also here to help with anything that may be affecting students' studies or personal lives. The service strives to make Māori students' time at university as stress free as possible. Services include:
- Course advice and enrolment
- Scholarship information
- Student loan and allowance information
- Whānau support
- Cultural support
- Māori Student Support Network (MSSN)
- Someone to talk to about personal issues such as homesickness and relationship problems.
The team also administers a number of scholarships for Māori students on behalf of the University as well as assisting students who are applying for other national scholarships.
If you're looking for a Māori space in which to relax, meet other Māori students or just 'hang out' and study, come and visit the friendly whānau at Te Tari Takawaenga Māori.
