The Graduate Diploma and Graduate Certificate in Arts are designed for students with an undergraduate degree to pursue further study to broaden or deepen educational, professional or vocational knowledge and skills in a familiar subject or discipline already gained in an undergraduate programme or to develop knowledge in a new area.
These programmes have the advantage of being relatively short in duration and are particularly attractive to people who have undertaken an undergraduate degree but wish to update their knowledge and skills for the workplace or other contexts. The diploma and certificate are also suitable for those graduates wanting to develop knowledge in a new field of study because it allows a person to shift direction without having to undertake a full degree in the new area of interest. The Graduate Diploma and Graduate Certificate in Arts are also attractive to those people who simply have an interest in a particular discipline or field and who wish to study at degree level.
