Pasifika Primary Teaching

 

This programme is designed for people of all backgrounds who have an interest in working with Pasifika children. It will equip educators with the skills, knowledge and attitudes they need to be successful teachers in a Pasifika primary setting and/or the ways to work effectively with Pasifika primary children.

 

WHAT THIS PROGRAMME COVERS
There is a large need for qualified Pasifika primary teachers with the skills and knowledge to work effectively with Pasifika children. The range of papers, particularly in the third year of study, will equip students with Pasifika philosophies, languages and programme planning, assessment and evaluation. Specialist Pasifika lecturers and tutors are here to support students with their studies.

 

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

  • Graduates will be eligible to apply for provisional teacher registration.
  • Member of teaching team in a diverse range of primary/intermediate settings, but particularly Pasifika settings.
