Mandy Irwin
Bachelor of Education (Steiner Early Childhood)

Mandy Irwin completed a Bachelor of Education specialising in Steiner in 2006. Six months later she was offered a full-time teaching position at Auckland’s Michael Park Rudolf Steiner school in Ellerslie.

She says completing a teaching placement as part of her degree helped her establish a relationship with the school and eventually led to securing a full-time position.

“Ever since my first visit to Michael Park I have wanted to teach there. I did both of my placements at the school and then started relieving after I graduated,” she says.

“The placements were great. They give you the opportunity to observe and teach your own class - so you can figure out whether it’s right for you.”
