Adam Buckingham
Bachelor of Education (Montessori Early Childhood Teaching)

Adam Buckingham always enjoyed working with children and left his full time job to study a Bachelor of Education in early childhood teaching specialising in Montessori. He currently works as an early childhood teacher and encourages other men to take up teaching.

“Children need a male role model in their lives to show that men can also care for children,” he says. “A man brings a different perspective or way of looking at problems and issues.”

Adam was the only male student in his class at AUT which he found difficult at times as he says some people have a negative attitude towards male teachers. However thanks to the support of his family and friends he continued to study
